McCOOK Eva Maria Magnusdottir McCook- Born August 9, 1926 in Reykjavik, Iceland to Magnus Petursson and Kristn Gudny Gudlaugsdottir. Died October 6, 2010 in Jacksonville, FL. Eva was predeceased by her parents; sister, Anna; brother, Hii; her husband of 45 years, Leonard Alexander, McCook, Sr.; daughter, Maria Elizabeth; and grandson, Robert Lindsey McCook. She is survived by her sister Margret Magnusdottir of Reykjavik, her children, Magnus Gunnar McCook, Leonard Alexander McCook, Jr., Linda Gail McCook and David Lance McCook; grandchildren, Kristine, Kevin, Matthew, Heather and Kyle; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews both in the U.S. and her beloved homeland, Iceland. Eva devoted her life to the care and nurturing of her family. Often being the one called on to care for her relatives in their final days. She lovingly nurtured Heather and although not a "dog person" knew the importance of Heather's service dogs, allowing many to be trained in her home and even accepting the "rejects" as permanent members of the family. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services locally. Eva's remains will be returned to her homeland for burial in Reykjavik.
