Current Policy: The Wellsboro Gazette and Westfield Free Press-Courier are no longer accepting obituaries from any source other than a funeral home or crematorium. The change is to protect both the paper and family members of the deceased. These newspapers can accept obituary notices from out-of-state funeral homes. Editorial changes, such as spelling changes or adding/removing a survivor’s name, must come from the funeral home.
