Gladys A. Dotter
Gladys A. Dotter, 97, of Palmerton, formerly of Aquashicola, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at home with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Norman H. Dotter.
She worked for 10 years as a forelady at the former Scotty's Fashions in Palmerton and Treichlers until retiring in 1976. Previously, she worked at Fernbrook Mills and as a secretary for Dr. Prutzman, both in Palmerton; Vultee and Boeing aircraft companies; and Thurston Motor Lines.
Gladys was a longtime member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville, Aquashicola Fire Co. Auxiliary, and a life member of VFW Post 7215 Auxiliary, Walnutport. She enjoyed playing cards in the Blue Mountain Pinochle League and was a dedicated New York Yankees fan.
Born in Little Gap, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Beulah Mae (Graver) Walk.
Survivors: Daughter Mrs. Judy Walck, Palmerton; granddaughters Kim and husband Dave Gilbert, Tonia Walck and partner Deb Mack, all of Orefield; great-grandchildren Zachary Gilbert and wife Kasey, Amanda Gilbert; goddaughter Sherry Schaffer.
Gladys was predeceased by sisters Margaretta Persons, Beatrice Meixsell, Grace Kodlik, and Pauline Militello; brothers Burnett, Mahlon, Samuel, and Grant "Junior."
Services: 11 a.m. Sept. 18 in church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in church. Arrangements by T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, Palmerton.
