James F. McHugh
James F. McHugh, 90, of Summit Hill, passed away on July 12, 2018, at Weatherwood Nursing Home in Weatherly.
Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late James and Clara (Young) McHugh. James worked for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington D.C., having worked in their Radar Systems Department.
He last worked for American Electronic Laboratories in Lansdale, working in sales. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Summit Hill American Legion Post 316. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill. He was also a longtime member of the Summit Hill Lion's Club.
James was an avid golfer and a member at Mahoning Valley Country Club in Lehighton for many years.
Surviving is a brother, Cornelius McHugh of Lehighton, companion, Judy Moon of Nesquehoning; Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles McHugh, and sisters Mary Yurick, Dolores Martienssen and Kathleen Gulla.
Mass of Christian Burial is on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Lud-low St., Summit military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, White Bear, Summit Hill. Calling Hours are Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Summit Hill American Legion Service at 10:30 a.m.
