Joseph Tenetylo Obituary
Joseph Tenetylo, 85, of Harrisburg, entered into rest on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy Tene-tylo.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Roman and Mary (Marynich) Tenetylo.Leaving high school early to enlist in the U.S. Navy.
He was an electrician's mate on the USS-PC-1195 during World War II.
Returning home, he attended HACC and started work as a PBX repairman for the former Bell Telephone. After retirement, he worked for 20 years for Sutliffe Chevrolet as a driver.He was a member of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, Harrisburg, where for 48 years he served as usher and money counter. As a member of the former Holy Name Society, he was instrumental in organizing the spaghetti dinners and church picnics.
He was an avid Indy car and sprint car racing fan, and also enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are his loving friend, Caroline Madar of Linglestown; two brothers, Steve of Coaldale and Roman of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Sam; and two sisters, Anna Firkal and Julia Morgan.
Service: Divine Liturgy 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, 5408 Locust Lane, Harrisburg. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. Parastas service 7 p.m. Monday.
