Marilyn J. Sterling
Marilyn J. Sterling, 83, of Macungie, formerly of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Monday, May 14, the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.
Prior to retiring, she was a secretary in the clerical department of the Lehighton Water Authority.
Born on Wednesday, June 13, 1934, in Patterson, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Kenneth C. and Carrie P. (Beers) Ockenhouse.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, and the Lehighton Area Red Hat Society.
The deceased was an avid bowler and participated in many local tournaments. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, bus trips in the U.S. and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy L. Sterling-Curran, and her husband, Craig S. Curran, of Macungie; two sons, Robert J. Sterling, and his wife, Kathy L., and Kenneth K. Sterling, and his wife, Susan L., both of Lehighton; a sister, Corine Shaffer of Franklin Township; a brother, Norton T. Ockenhouse of Weatherly; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a sister, Karen Harrison.
Service: Celebration of Life service 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton. Interment, Lehighton Cemetery.
