Norbert Joseph "Sonny" Kunzweiler, 72, passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, in his sleep. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, June Ann (Stan-ton) Kunz-weil-er. They met in 1964 and were married on Dec. 18, 1965.
Sonny was a retired employee of 31 years of Harrison Radiator General Motors, Lockport, N.Y.
Born on Sept. 9, 1945, in Lansford, he was the only son of the late Norbert Joseph and Ellen Alice (Mc Laughlin).
He went to high school in Nesquehoning and served in the military during the Vietnam War Era.
He was a proud member of American Legion Post 1451, Wheatfield, N.Y.
Sonny was also an exempt member of the Wilson Conservation Club, Wilson; a proud member of the NRA; and a past member of the Niagara County Motorcycle Club.
He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Tammyann Kunzweiler of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three grandsons, Erik Joseph Blake Hartung, James Ryan Tyler Kunzweiler and Noah Riley John Kunzweiler; a great-granddaughter, Adalyn Aria Kunzweiler of Fort Wayne; two granddaughters, Melissa Charles and Cassondra Hartung; and seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Gabrielle, James, Wyatt, Dalton, Zoey and Cholie, all in West Virginia; six sisters, Patricia (late Robert) Black, Elizabeth (William) Dimmick, Rosemary (late William) Lower, Theresa Toth, Cecelia (late John) Yanick and Ellen (late Lamont) Stuckley; and many great nieces and nephews.
