Mrs. Ruthann Ahner
Mrs. Ruthann "Cookie" Ahner, 77, of Lehighton, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday evening, Aug. 25, under the loving care of her family. She was the wife of Ronald C. Ahner Sr. They were married for 58 years.
She and her husband founded R.A. Ahner Furniture, where she worked along with her family for the past 50 years.
Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Madeline (Drumbore) Bowman.
She loved spending time with her family, especially gatherings at her pool, tending to her perennial gardens, reading, shopping, casino trips and time at the beach.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Ronald C. Jr., two daughters, Rochelle Rodgers and Rhonda, wife of Donn Edgar, and a brother, Ronald Bowman, all of Lehighton; and six grandchildren, Matthew and Mark Ahner, Amanda (Rogers) Rex, Amber Rodgers, Brianna (Edgar) Hinze and Brandon Edgar.
She also adored her great-granddaughter, Selah Rose Hinze, and her great-grandson, Trenton Rex.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a son, Ryan Ahner; a son-
in-law, Warner (Butch) Rodgers; and four sisters, Linda Young, Joyce Knappenberger, Delores Fisher and Betty Graver.
