Elizabeth Mermon
Elizabeth "Betty" Mermon, 89, formerly of 229 W. High St., Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 20, 2014 in St. Luke's Health Network, Coaldale Campus.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Legeza) Mermon.
She was employed as a clerk for the Old Company, Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company and Jet Data Processing until retiring.
Betty was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, class of 1943.
She was a member of St. John Russian Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning.
Surviving is a sister-in-law, Frances Mermon of Nesquehoning; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Julia Pavlick, Ann Newton, Mary Kochan, and Susan Kolisko and brothers, Dr. Michael and George Mermon.
Services: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at St. John Russian Orthodox Church, 9 E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Robert J. Teklinski officiating. Call 10 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday in the church. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in her name to the church. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
