Martha Dixon Obituary
Martha Jeanne
Martha Jeanne Dixon, age 64, passed away recently after a prolonged battle with complications from diabetes. She was the first born of Thornton and Jeanne Dixon of West Toledo. She was a 1970 graduate of Whitmer High School in the Independent Study Program for gifted students. She graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.
Marti followed her passion for real estate. Over the years she worked as a Realtor, taught classes at various Real Estate Schools, became a Broker and opened an ERA Franchise, and worked as a trainer/recruiter for The Danberry Company and RE/MAX Masters.
She met her soul mate, John, and once he acquired his real estate license she agreed to marry him in 2003. They planned to spend the rest of their lives together traveling, cooking, and investing in real estate. Marti would identify the project and specify what needed to be done and John would make it happen.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 13 years, John Szempias; her brothers, Norman and George, and sister, Lou (Jeff) Nelson, as well as nieces, nephews, and grandchildren in Toledo and spread across the country.
Her passing on August, 24, 2016 will leave a void for all who knew her thoughtful and kind ways.
Respecting her wishes, no services will be held. The family requests that any tributes be donated to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, The Diabetes Foundation, or any charity of the donor's choice.

Martin was my first real love!! We laughed, Cried and Experienced so much together. With her support I moved to Los Angeles and thought that our lives would continue there, but it didn't. I will always have you in my heart Marti!!! Gone Too Soon.

To Lou and your family, I'm so sad for all of you. I first knew and always thought highly of Marti as a teenager and later took real estate classes from her. Her kind spirit will be missed.
