Ahmad “Al” Khmur, 77, of Toledo, OH, lost his battle to cancer on Monday, March 21, 2016.
Al was beloved by all. He was known by the members of his community as, “Abu
Sammy”, which means the father of Sammy in Arabic. He was a simple man, who enjoyed watching football, reading books, and loved a good cigar. His laugh was the best, and all respected his outlook on life! He would share many of his wisdoms through what could lovingly be referred to as “Al-isms”. He was a CPA who for the past 25 years owned his own business, Khmur and Associates. Prior to that, Al's work took him all over. He lived in different parts of the country, Arkansas, Michigan, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He and his family also spent some time overseas working in Saudi Arabia.
Ahmad was preceded in death by his parents, Khalil and Mariam Khmur; and his wife, Aida Khmur. He is survived by his wife, Jalila Shamroukh; his daughter, Mona (Yazeed) Qamari; son Sammy (Rana) Khmur; and his daughter, Maha Khmur,
His family would like to express much gratitude to the staff of Ebeid Hospice Residence for taking wonderful care of him the final days of his life.
Services took place at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Ebeid Hospice Residence on the campus of Flower Hospital, or the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Arrangements were entrusted to
