We knew Jim for a very long time. We are so saddened by his passing. Our heart goes out to the family.

Meeting Jim in the 4th grade when we were 9 years old, he wasn’t just a friend…instead he defined the word “friendship” itself for me and any friendships to follow. Riding our bikes, fixing lawnmowers, playing games, endless hours of listening to music: it would be impossible to list everything the years brought because every friendship is a world unto itself. I was fortunate to be among those for whom Jim created such a wonderful world. People simply in whose company we grow and flourish, and who improve us not by what they do but just by their very being, are the saints who walk the earth. Jim died with me still owing him at least one more “Thank you, Jim.” That debt will be an unending joy to carry. Jim’s friendship was music I will listen to for the rest of my life. “….it is not dying…it is not dying…it is shining….”
