Judith Gensler Obituary
Judith Gensler

For 86 years, Judith "Judy" (Emerick) Gensler, of Sylvania, graced our world and touched our lives. She passed on December 28, 2018, at Ebeid Hospice.

Born in Petersburg, MI, to Frederick and Lucille (Elder) Emerick on April 6, 1932, Judy lived most of her life in Toledo, OH and Sylvania, OH. She worked for Libby Glass for many years, and retired as a Senior Buyer.

Judy accomplished much in her life, but it was her devotion as a mother that was, and will continue to be, inspiring. She is admired for being so strong, yet not becoming hardened; for quietly tending to everyone else, yet never seeking credit; and for simply being there – always being there – , yet allowing others to be themselves.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Spinazze. Judy is survived by her companion, Donald Hartsel; son, Jeffrey Gensler; step-son, Steven Hartsel and family; step-daughter, Holly Hartsel and family; cousins, Rosemary Luce, Virginia Evanstad, Janice Howells and Jeanne Phillips; nieces and nephew, Cindy Majka, Shelli Rolfes, and Mark Spinazze, and their families; as well as beloved friends and neighbors.

To honor Judy's wishes, there will be no services.

It is said that we remember people less for what they do, than for how they make us feel. With Judy, it was both her loving actions and her simple presence in the room that made our lives better. She was lovely, loving, and loved. We are grateful to her.
