Rose Marie (Olejownik) Eteau

Rose Marie Eteau, formerly of Toledo, OH, moved to Ormond Beach, FL 4 years ago and passed away in Hospice Care on Friday, September 7, 2018. Rosie was the only child born to Walter and Wanda (Nescuir) Olejownik in Toledo. Rosie graduated from Woodward High School in 1950. She married John A. Eteau on August 29, 1953 and celebrated 48 ½ wonderful years together before John preceded her in death.

Rosie led a very full and active life. She was very active in sports as a child winning 3 gold medals in swimming. She also played basketball and softball for the Polish Falcons of Toledo and bowled for the Queens of Toledo. Rosie also taught physical education at St. Vincent DePaul, St. Adalberts and Regina Coeli grade schools. After graduating from high school she attended Stautzensberger Business School.

Rosie and her husband, John, enjoyed 18 years in Florida before returning to Toledo. Her husband John, children, and grandchildren were the most important things in her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lynne (Gary) Trimmer; son, Mark (Sophia) Eteau,;7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and son, John M. Eteau.

Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. same day in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
