Stephen Krauser Obituary

KRAUSER Stephen R. Steve Krauser, 70 years, of South Toledo passed away unexpectedly, but at great peace in his home, Monday April 27, 2009. Steve had a great passion for life. He shared that through his 46 years of marriage to Sharon and with his children Debbie, Steve Jr. and Missy, their families and with many friends and acquaintances. Steve was born and raised in Toledo having attended Ladyfield School, St. Francis de Sales High School and the University of Toledo where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While at St. Francis and as a member of the first graduating class, Steve was a tremendous athlete who along with an outstanding group of young men earned that school almost instant respectability in athletics during those early years. His great speed and toughness allowed him to have great success as a tailback in football, contribute to the basketball team and run track and field. Steve joined the Ohio Table Pad Company in 1963 where he spent over 44 years holding many management positions culminating in being named president in 1972 and later, Chairman of The Board until retirement in 2007. His business savvy and people friendly demeanor made him a natural to lead the Company's sales team, which was his day to day responsibility for many years, in addition to general management duties. With responsibility for developing thousands of major and secondary accounts all over North America, his contributions to Ohio Table Pad Company's success cannot be measured in words. Steve enjoyed many hobbies in his life including scuba diving, boating and lately a passion for golf, but his greatest joy and pride was his family. Steve and Sharon raised three great kids and together with their spouses and 5 grandchildren found much happiness in watching their development. We will all miss him very, very much. Steve is survived by his wife, Sharon (Beckler) Krauser; daughters, Debbie (Greg) Eaton of Grand Blanc, MI and Missy (Jim) Katsafanas of Naperville, IL and son, Steve (Kris) Krauser Jr. of Bay Village, OH. The grandchildren are Allie and Max Eaton, Stephen Krauser and Tommy and Sara Katsafanas. Also surviving are his brother, Chris (Jeanne) Krauser and children; sisters, Gerry Crouse and children and Margie Krauser along with relatives, Tom and Betty Straub and children and Larry and Carol Beckler. Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road Thursday 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. The funeral will begin in the mortuary Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial may take the form of a contribution to the Scholarship fund of St. Francis de Sales High School. Please view and sign the "on-line" guest register at www.CoyleFuneralHome.com

I met Steve when he attended Central Catholic before transferring to St. Francis. I also worked at Ohio Table Pad while attending UT. It's been many years, but I remember him well. I remember his sister Margie too. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
