Mary Ila Crockett
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of mother, Mary Ila Crockett Hairston, 90, in Toledo, on October 21, 2015. She married Brooker Cox in October, 1945.
Mary loved to sew and cook. She came to Toledo in 1956, with her 5 sons, and found work to support the family. She was introduced to Charlie David Hairston, in 1960, and they were married in August, 1965.
Leaving to cherish her memory, husband of 50 years, Charlie David Hairston; sons, Wiley (Frances) Cox, Sterlin (Angella) Cox, Merlin (Lilly) Cox, and Willard (Rosemary) Cox; sister, Ruby (Connie) Bryson and Barbara Billingslea; brother, Layton (Nancy) Crockett; stepdaughter, Arnella Hariston; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek.
Special thanks to the staff at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek and the family's best friend, Charlene Donly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., at the House of Day Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015, at 10 a.m., at Union Grove Baptist Church.

I would spend hours upon hours just watching my Aunt Mary cook & bake in her home on Hamilton Street. Her love of cooking was only surpassed by my love of her cooking AND baking. I will always love and remember you Aunt Mary
