Robert Joseph
Robert Joseph “Bob” Zankl, age 59, passed away in his home in Wesley Chapel, Florida on Friday, February 26, 2016. He was born on January 1, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio to John and Anna Zankl. He married his wife, Ursula Westmeyer on September 1, 1990. He was a 1976 graduate of Roy C. Start High School. Bob was employed for 38 years at Service Spring Corporation working in shipping, sales and purchasing. He retired in 2014 and moved to Florida to start a new chapter of his life. Bob enjoyed cars and was proud of his 1976 TransAm that he help restore with the help of some friends in the Pontiac-Oakland Club (POCI) in Toledo.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife, Ursula; daughter, Sara, both of Wesley Chapel, Florida; brother, John (Sharon) Zankl, of Toledo and Ft. Myers, Florida; as well as his nieces, Tammy (Joe) Bates, of Canton, Michigan and Angela (Tony) Paprocki, of Perrysburg, Ohio. He will also be missed by his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Zankl and his in-laws, Walter and Ruth Westmeyer.
The family will receive guests on Friday, March 4, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. at The Historic Church of St. Patrick, 130 Avondale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio with visitation from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. in church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Ursula,
I am so very sorry about your loss. Bob was such a great guy. My late husband Steve liked Bob so much and enjoyed going to car shows with him. I also thought that he was a very nice guy. My prayers are with you and Sara at this very difficult time.
