Mary Miller Obituary

MILLER
Mary Olivia (Rinna)
Mary Olivia (Rinna) Miller passed away on April 20, 2016 at the Spring Meadow Extended Care Facility. Mary was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated husband, Richard. She is survived by her nine children, Richard Miller (Rita Kay), Patrick Miller (Jean), Michael Miller (Dawn), Jan Miller, Mark Miller (Marcia), Pamela Pettee (John), Thomas Miller, Mary Jo Baucom (Kevin), Janenne Marcus; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, nieces and her nephews.
Mary had an abundance of love for her children and felt joy in their many accomplishments. She discovered beauty in most things and had a special talent for drawing. Later in her life she shared her artistic talent with children as a volunteer at the MCO Pediatric Outpatient waiting room. Mary loved to read and claimed she journeyed to different times and places through her books. A hat, her trademark, was always a part of her everyday apparel.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016, from 6-9 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to join a celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial for Mary at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee, Ohio on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

My sweet Nana - you have always inspired me with your peaceful and patient nature, artistic flair, remarkable wit, and sharp mind. I wish I had your unwavering warm smile and ability to not take life too seriously. You were the ultimate matriarch, the treasure of our family, and everything I could ever hope to be and then some. You were one of my favorite people in this world and I'm going to miss you tremendously. I can't even begin to count the number of ways you have shaped my life and all the things you have taught me - I feel so lucky to have known and loved you. Thank you for sharing your big heart with me. And, of course, our mutual love of good books, ginger ale, trashy magazines, and fabulous accessories. Rest easy and dance away in Heaven with Papa for me. I love you to bits and pieces.

The best sauce on the planet, the most passionate lover of books, and the soul of a saint are just a few of the precious memories of this most special person, mother-in-law, mother to my wife, And Nana to my children. She taught us all to just relax and thank God. She will be forever missed. Rest in Peace Maggie.
