Jonathan Arni
Jonathan A. Augustine, 58, passed away on Saturday,
November 26, 2016, after a brief illness. Jon was born on April 15, 1958, in Toledo. He lived in Perrysburg all of his life and was a loved member of the community.
Jon graduated from Perrysburg High School and The University of Toledo. He worked in radio and at Commercial Aluminum Cookware, Hewlett-Packard, and Great Lakes Marketing
before starting his own market research company, AZG Research, which primarily served hospitals and healthcare systems.
Jon was a recipient of the 20 under 40 Award in 1997. Each year since 1996, twenty young community leaders receive this prestigious award, which showcases dynamic leaders from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan who are under the age of 40. The program recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or in the community. Jon was on the boards of the Red Cross, the Boys and Girls Clubs, and the Girl Scouts, lending his marketing expertise to each of those organizations. He was also a past member of the Toledo Club.
Jon was a curious and friendly individual who loved to travel, especially in the Caribbean and Mexico. He enjoyed many trips with his family and friends, collecting new ones along the way.
Jon was a devoted caregiver of his parents, Joseph and
Doris Augustine, and his brother, Nathaniel who preceded him in death. His brother, Joel Augustine; niece, Lyndsay Leeman; nephews, Raymond and Rommy
Augustine, all of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; sister, Melissa A. Cain (Mike) of Perrysburg; nieces, Emily Cain, Boulder, CO and Cara Radosavljevic (Aleksandar), Washington, DC; nephew, Bennett Cain, Queens, NY; and great-niece, Eva Radosavljevic survive.
Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Perrysburg, OH. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Online condolences can be made to the family at

Jon there are no words for Junnie and I loss and sadness. You were my best friend. I am so glad I spent an hour with you. I made you smile as you always made me smile. No one else would have understood our humor we shared. I will never ever forget you and miss you so much already. Until we meet again my friend.

To the Augustine Family- I am so sorry for your loss. I am shocked to learn of John's passing. I always enjoyed his 3AM phone calls for snow removal (he was usually traveling, and forgot about the time difference). John was a wonderful man who will be truly missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I became acquinted with Jonathan in the early 1990's...We were co-chairs of the Ohio Theater campaign on Lagrange Street in Toledo...It was a successful effort due to our leadership of the committee to restore it. .I liked Jon and will miss his sense of humor and intelligence...My thoughts and prayers are with his family....Sincerely, Deborah Born

To the Augustine Family, I am saddened to read about Jonathan's death at such a young age. Even though I did not know him - I did know of his wonderful family. His father was a good friend of my neighbor in Perrysburg. Joel was our paper boy, Nat was a class after me, and Melissa was with, and still is with my class mate, Mike Caine. At lease now Jonathan is not suffering, and he is with his Creator. May he rest in peace.
