Virginia Sargent Obituary

Virginia M. (Sarver) Sargent

Virginia M. (Sarver) Sargent, 93, of Perrysburg, OH passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Manor of Perrysburg. She was born on October 3, 1924 in the village of Perrysburg, OH to Gilbert and Mildred (Ellerman) Sarver. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1941.

Virginia married her sweetheart, Paul H. Sargent on February 18, 1942 in Perrysburg and together they raised their family. She was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg Chapter #446 O.E.S. and The Ladies' Oriental Shrine of North America. Virginia was a Toledo Area Miniature enthusiast and owned her own ceramic shop, Idle Hour Ceramic, where she also taught ceramics.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Paul; children, David A. (Carolyn) Sargent, Andrea L. (David) Rex and Melissa S. Sargent; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133) on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at New Belleville Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Virginia's name may be made to Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg, OH 43551 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
