Frank Hetman Obituary
Frank Hetman, Jr., born June 25, 1926, to Frank Hetman, Sr. and Elizabeth (Sabo), passed away on March 31, 2021.
A WWII Veteran, Frank trained at the Naval Training School at Iowa State College until he was called to duty in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Following the war, Frank worked at Libbey-Owens-Ford, where he remained until he retired in 1982.
Frank was an avid sportsman and competed in Field Trials with his beloved Champion Springer Spaniel, Sammi Sam. Together, they won National acclaim. Frank also enjoyed playing golf and found a hidden talent in golf club restoration. He became well known throughout the community for his attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elsie (Michelsen); grandson, Cannon Caswell; sisters, Margaret McNitt (Hetman) and Eleanor Noggle (Hetman); and brother, Robert Hetman.
He is survived by his children, Jeff Hetman (Rhonda) and Lynn Caswell (Ken); his grandchildren, Zoe and Jake Hetman and Chase and Bryn Caswell; brother, Ronald Hetman (Gloria); along with many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank David and Linda Polzin for their love and care for Frank over the years as well as his many loving neighbors.
A Gun Salute will be slated for later in the year. Please send any donations in Frank's name to the Medical College of Ohio.
