Joe & Winnie Garvey lived three doors from my family and I would see Fred dropping by to see them quite regularly. I remember him as a kind well respected man and well known to anyone involved in sports. My sympathy to the family on your loss.

Over 65 years ago when my family lived on Charles St. I went to Imaculate
Conception school. Fred Garvey was a very supportive hockey coach at the East City Bowl outdoor hockey rink. He was a wonderful person and
coach. I met him again several years ago when I moved back to Peterborough when I met his daughter.
God rest his soul. God rest his soul !

Hi Chris & Fred Jr. & Garvey Family,

Was sorry to see that your namesake has passed. Fred Sr's family is a wonderful example of living one's faith and enjoying life for all those years. Truly a remarkable family. Lots of awesome memories flood back to our days at the old St. Pete's and times on the squash court that allowed me to see that the Fred Jr. family has learned well from Sr. Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is always a trail of beautiful memories, so I have no doubt that memories of your awesome family will sustain each of you over the upcoming years. Well done Fred Sr. on bringing rainbows to your family over the smiles.

Freddie was a salt of the earth man, just a lovely person. My father Jim Hawley was a navy vet as well and always spoke very highly of Fred. He will be sadly missed. To his lovely wife and family my sincere sympathies. I hated the thought of this day coming but he is now in heaven...no doubt. Jamie Hawley
