My twin sister passed away in New Mexico back in 2000. My Father , Mother and I went there to bring her back home but before we did....we went into a little gift shop that was playing this song that made Mom and me cry. It was so beautiful and it just remeinded us of my twin sister, I had gone up to the cerk to ask them who it was they were playing and they said Joanne Shenandoha. The song that was playing was "35 more miles". Needless to say we both bought a copy of the CD and I always play it on special occasions. Thank you Joanne for making such soothing helped me during a very sad time..You will be very missed...may you RIP and soar with the eagles.

Joanne touched my heart in so many ways. Her music was powerful yet beautiful, gentle and tender. I had the pleasure of meeting her and her family several times at Pow Wow's in Mashpee, MA but her music was always so familiar to me growing up in New York State. I was crushed when I received the news from a friend at my church because I was the one that picked the music for the first "Land Acknowledgement" done by our church, First Parish Dorchester, MA the second oldest in the United States. I picked 2 of her songs to play during the service "Everyone Stand Up" and "Kahawi'tha". It has taken me this long to process that she has left Mother Earth and is now with the Creator. It will take me longer to process that she will start her next journey after a rest but will be making beautiful music with others who have gone to be with the Creator before her. Rest for now but know that your beautiful music will always live on in those you have touched and we will forever remember you.

Joanne was a light to the world and
gave so much of herself through her music
and everything she did. We became friends on
Facebook and shared our spirits and
love of creation. We had a bond of prayer.
She helped me in so many ways. When my brother died she sent me a song that she wrote, "Call
My Name" saying that our loved one is only a
whisper away. I was so sad to hear of her passing. I will always be grateful for having her in my life. My heart goes out to her family.
Please know that you have all my love and prayers
during this difficult time.May creator's love and peace be always with you.
Love, Sister Kathleen Cevette
