James Edward Johnson, 88, quietly departed this life Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his residence. A US Army veteran, he worked at his family’s restaurant, ‘The Shrimp Boat’, and Cadwalader Elementary School. Previous active member of Greater Mt Zion A.M.E. Church, he enjoyed listening to jazz, watching sports and hosting his annual summer fish fry. Predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Mary; siblings, George Johnson, Bettie Roberts and Victoria J. McNeil, he leaves to cherish his memory: 1 sister: Emily Jones; several nieces and nephews, Godchildren, devoted caregiver, Jessica Sloan and many other relatives and friends.
