Mary Guarino Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that our precious mother, Mary Grace Volpe Guarino, 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving daughters. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ she was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. Mary was “everyone’s” mom. She was active in the Lawrence Township Schools PTA and a former member and president of the Altar Rosary Society. Mary enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends, especially Sunday dinners. She was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing to “Big Bands” with her husband. She was married to the love of her life, the late James T. Guarino, and was a resident of Lawrenceville ever since their marriage. Daughter of the late Dominic and Christine Italiano Volpe and step-daughter of the late Guiseppe DiPaolo, she is predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Bongrazio, and Phyllis Dringus, and brothers Vincent and Joseph DiPaolo. Mary is survived by her four daughters, Rosemary Guarino Dorn, LaRaine Guarino Conte and her husband Mark, Teresa A, Guarino, with whom Mary resided and Janet Guarino. Also surviving is her grandson Thomas James Donnelly and his wife Lisa, her sister Louise Malerba and husband Anthony and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. In addition a special “Thank You “to her nurse Cheryl and her caregivers Gretel, Tee and Polly. Funeral services for Mary will be held on Tuesday October 10 beginning at 10 am at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, Lawrenceville. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
