Nellie Mae McRae, 97, of Trenton departed this life Friday, February 2, 2018 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ. Nellie was born in Lumber Bridge (Hoke County), NC where she obtained her education from the Laurel Hill Public School System. She was baptized at Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Nellie moved to Allentown NJ in the early 1940’s and Trenton in the 1950’s. She attended Galilee Baptist Church and Jerusalem Baptist Church became her church home. She was employed as a Domestic and worked for several doctors including Dr. Satvinder Dhillon and Dr. Rolando L. DeGoma. Nellie was the daughter of the late Ancrum and Agnes Harriott McRae; sister of the late Bud, Judge, Harry, Dan, Rose and Inez McRae, Eleanor McRae Jones-Carter and Addie McRae Ellis; mother -in-law of the late James (Doodie) Coleman Jr.; niece of the late Emmanuel and Codelia Harris and partner of the late Jobie Howell. Nellie is survived by two sons, Gene Edwin McRae of Landover, MD and Herman McRae (Ethal) of Upper Marlboro, MD; two daughters, Hazel Brumby-Parker (Gregory) and (Caregiver) Regina Howell-Coleman (Ernest Akins) all of Trenton, NJ; stepson, Norman Howell (Florine) of Philadelphia, PA; six grandchildren, Raymond Crook, Kenya Brumby Myers (Darnell), Reginald Coleman (Victoria), Kendall Brumby (Alisa), Derell Coleman, Joseph Brumby Jr.; 14 great grandchildren, Reggie, Anija, and Devin Coleman, Dominic Best, Brittany Preston, Kalyn Myers, Kennia, Jaylen, Peyton, Waliq, Jaden, Misa and Julian Brumby; one niece, Carrie Bains of Fayetteville, NC; her extended family, Rebecca and Wilma Westcott, Joseph Brumby Sr. and Sylvia McEachern Queen. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11am at Friendship Baptist Church 111 Perry St. Trenton, NJ 08638. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9am to 11am at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
