Vera Wolfinger Obituary
Vera M. Wolfinger (Rafferty), 91, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8th, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Trenton, Vera lived most of her life in Hamilton Twp. She was a graduate of Trenton High, Class of 1944. She worked for many years at the phone company New Jersey Bell and later at her church Fellowship Baptist. She retired in 1987, to focus on helping to raise her grandchildren. Vera was an avid volunteer for companies such as Meals on Wheels and the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed spending her free time cooking, reading, solving puzzles, knitting, and most importantly spending time with her loving family. Vera was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Thomas Rafferty, Sr.; her brother, Thomas, Jr. and her husband of 52 years, Harry P. Wolfinger. She is survived by her two daughters, Gretchen and her husband, David, and Heidi; her son, David and daughter-in-law, Carol; three grandchildren, Allyse, Alexander and Cora; and cousins, Arlene and Jane. Vera’s family would like to express their special appreciation to the Caring Senior Service aides, Fabienne, Amelia, Andree, Judith, Lynette, Marjorie, Merlyne, and Yanique; her nurses, John and Judy; and her social worker, Bethany, for their wonderful care. All services will be private under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, www.pva.org, or the Rescue Mission of Trenton, 98 Carroll St., Trenton, NJ 08609. www.saulfuneralhomes.com
