Eva G. Carlson, 98, of McKeesport, died Sunday, January 23, 2011, in Riverside Nursing Center, McKeesport. She was born May 29, 1912, in McKeesport. She was a retired teacher for 42 years in the Third Street School in Dravosburg. She was a member of the First Christian Church in McKeesport and its Sonshiner?s, a member of Chapter 32 AARP and the Retired School Employees. She was a 1932 graduate of Indiana State Teacher?s College. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Sternquist Griffiths and wife of the late John T. ?Tuss? Carlson. She is survived by her sister Lillian Deer of Florida; four nephews, Thomas, Jonathan and David Bowen and Daniel Deer; and also a great niece, Aimee Martin. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hunter Funeral Home Inc., 1600 Coursin St., McKeesport, Pa., 15132. A service will take place Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 8 p.m. in the funeral home with Ray J. Beard, minister, officiating. Interment will take place Wednesday in Jefferson Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church of McKeesport.
