Thelma Hudson Turner, of Clairton, departed this life Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Hills. She was born in McKenzie, Ala., and was the daughter of the late A. G. and Jessie Sallie Hudson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Turner; son Ray Turner; grandson, Seton L. Jones; and siblings, T. J. Hudson, Cleophus Hudson, Merrie H. Clifford, Alean Hudson, Willie Clay Butler and Sally Mae Curry. She was a longtime faithful member of Mt. Olive First Baptist Church where she served with the Deaconess and Culinary Ministries and sang with the Unity and Sanctuary Choirs. Surviving are her children, JoAnn Slater and Lloyd G. Turner, both of McKeesport, Paula A. (Avanalist) Jackson and LaVerne (Eric) Jones-East, all of Clairton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Lee Berry, of Clairton and Fred E. Hudson, of Elizabeth; one aunt, Georgia Mae Williams, of Detroit, Mich.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mt. Olive First Baptist Church, 451 Park Ave., Clairton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. William C. Callaway, officiating. Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, PA. 15037. ROBERT A. WATERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., Clairton.
