John Bober

John Bober, 90, of Ligonier, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in the Bethlen Home. He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Grapeville, a son of the late Jacob and Mary Bober. John was a member of the Heritage United Methodist Church, Ligonier. He was a member of the Ligonier County Club, a World War II veteran and, prior to retirement, he was part owner of John Hall Inc. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hall Bober, in 2011; son-in-law, Mike Metheny, in 2011; two brothers, James and Andrew Bober; and two sisters, Tekla Hylwa and Alice Hamilton. He is survived by his two children: a daughter, Sheri Metheny, of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Brian J. (Joan) Bober, of Allison Park; four grandchildren, Megan (Bryan) Monteith, Scott (Vikki) Metheny, Julie (Andrew) Moore and Adam (Megan) Bober; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Santone, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received Monday in the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church St., Ligonier. A funeral service was held Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. John C. Flower Jr. officiating. Interment was in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ligonier Valley Library, 120 W. Main St., Ligonier, PA 15658.
