Lois M. Albrecht Obituary
Lois M. Kindelberger Albrecht, 87, of Murrysville, formerly of Camp Hill, died Friday, Feb, 23, 2018, in Redstone Highlands. Murrysville. Lois was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Short Creek, W.Va. She graduated from Oil City High School and Clarion University, and received her Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Lois was a teacher and a librarian. She worked for the Pennsylvania State Library System for many years. After her retirement, Lois started her own library consulting company called "Foresight." She received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Clarion University for her work in the integration of computer and internet services with the state libraries. Lois was active in the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries and the Pennsylvania Library Association. She was awarded the 2009 PCBL Lifetime Achievement Award, and the 1990 PLA Distinguished Service Award. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women and Professional Business Women. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albrecht; parents, Harry M. Sr. and Vonda (Defibaugh) Kindelberger; and brother, Harry M. Kindelberger Jr. She is survived by two nephews, Ralph Kindelberger and Wesley Kindelberger; a niece, Linda Smith; four great-nephews; and a great-niece.
At Lois' request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Redstone Highlands on a date yet to be determined.
