Jane Z. Narr Obituary
Jane Z. Narr, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, in Punta Gorda, Fla., aged 100 years, seven months and 23 days. She was the last of a generation of Narrs and Zarembas, Bridgemans and Zielinskis, Staubs and Malburgs, Herders and Ciprianis, who flourished in Pittsburgh from the early days of the 20th century. "All these were honored in their generation and were the glory of their times." (Ecclesiastes 44:7) They were mail carriers and millworkers, grocery store managers and retail clerks, insurance claim adjusters and county employees. None were rich, famous or powerful, but all left a second generation of fortunate sons and daughters to honor their memory, along with friends and an extended family acquired through marriage. Jane was predeceased by her father and mother, Jan Zaremba and Stephania Zielinska, of Pittsburgh; and by her beloved husband, Eugene G. Narr Jr., also of Pittsburgh; by her sisters, Alice Zaremba, Harriet Herder and Irene Kolby; and by son-in-law T. Craig Martin, of Port Charlotte, Fla. She is survived by her much-loved children, David N. Narr, and wife Seafair, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Christina A. Narr, of Port Charlotte, Fla., by grandchildren Olivia A. Narr, of Atlanta, Ga. and David W. Narr, of Norfolk, Va.; and by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Jane and Gene Narr were longtime residents of Lawrenceville and Ingomar.
In accordance with her wishes, Jane will be interred beside her husband in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Bauerstown, Shaler Township. Plans for a memorial service in the Pittsburgh area this spring will be announced in the near future.
Please, no flowers. Condolences may be directed to the family.
