John R. Bartolomucci Harrison City John R. Bartolomucci, 93, of Harrison City, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, in William Penn Care Center, Jeannette, with his devoted family at his side. He was born Aug. 18, 1919, in Dunningtown, a son of the late Marco and Crucifissa (DiPalo) Bartolomucci. John was a graduate and the senior class president of Franklin Township Senior High School with the class of 1939. He attended St. Vincent College and Penn State University. John was the co-founder and president of Everledge Manufacturing Co., Harrison City. He was a veteran of World War II, having proudly served in the Army Air Corps. He was a longtime member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Harrison City, Manor American Legion, Post No. 0472 and a life member of the Murrysville Historical Preservation Society. John formerly served as the Penn Township police commissioner and he was a former member of the Norwin Elks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ruth (Rentz) Bartolomucci; brothers, Mimi, Rudy, Jim and Mike; and sisters, Emma, Mary and Concetta. John is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving family, his daughter, Carol Intrieri and her husband, Louis, of Murrysville; son, John Bartolomucci Jr. and his wife, Margie, of Montoursville; sister, Anna Zeba; and brother, Louis Bartolomucci, both of Harrison City; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be especially missed by his grandchildren, Lisa Fellner, Christi Bartolomucci-Pitchersky, Laura Stackhouse, Stephanie Bartolomucci, Mia Intrieri, Cara Ruefle and Karyn Bartolomucci; and 14 great-grandchildren all of whom he was very proud. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, PA 15626, 724-468-1177. A prayer vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. John's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Barbara's Catholic Church, 34 Raymaley Road, Harrison City, with Father Ken Zaccagnini as celebrant. Committal services and entombment with full military honors accorded by VFW Post No. 33 Honor Guard, Greensburg, will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
