1947 - 08
Michael E. Anderson Irwin Michael E. Anderson, 65, of Irwin, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. He was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Pittsburgh, and was a graduate of Greensburg Central Catholic High School and Dayton University. He was a son of the late Clarence and Eleanor Wasnesky Anderson. Prior to his retirement, Michael was employed by the Elliott Co. of Jeannette as an engineer. He was a veteran and served in the Army. Mike was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Herminie. He was a devoted family man whose wife and children were the center of his life. Mike's greatest joys were being a dedicated father, actively supporting his children's academics and dreams, and coaching his three children and local community kids in sports. His passion continued watching his children play sports at Hempfield, supporting their careers after graduation, and watching his son, Scott, coach basketball in Carroll County, Md. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Serwonski Anderson. The inscription on their wedding rings, "love is eternal," spoke volumes of this love especially throughout the very difficult last few years. He is survived by three devoted and adoring children, Stacey Anderson, of Delmont, Scott Anderson and wife, Kara, of Westminster, Md., and Lindsey Anderson, of Irwin; a grandson, Tyler Anderson; two sisters, Carol McCarren and husband, Jack, of North Huntingdon, and Christine Dudash and husband, David, of Apollo; and a brother, Dr. Robert Anderson and wife, Dr. Mary Eileen McCormack of Crown Point, Ind. Cherished relationships to Mike were also his sister-in-law, Fran Kresicki and husband, Tony, and a brother-in-law, Paul Serwonski and wife, Patty, all of North Huntingdon; numerous adoring nieces and nephews, great-nephews, a great-niece, and godson, Jonathan Funk. The family would like to thank from the bottom of their hearts Dr. Waas and the staff at UPMC Oakbrook in Greensburg, Dr. Poltinnikov, Hilda and the staff at Arnold Palmer Pavilion, the nurses at Westmoreland Hospital Surgical Center and the CCU staff, Hillman Cancer Center, Jennifer Jenkins, and the 7 West staff, Dr. Mapara, Dr. Sahovic, Dr. Rossetti, Kathy O'Connell and the 7 T staff at West Penn. Our deep appreciation to our home health care team, Jeanette, Megan, Erin and Jackie. Our gratitude to Dr. Pal, Dr. D'Onofrio, Dr. Kowalyk, Dr. Sauter and Dr. Jill Constantine. Our love and thanks to his buddies for all of their calls and visits.
