Rebecca Crowell Obituary

Rebecca May Crowell, 55, of New Stanton, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 16, 1957, in Greensburg, a daughter of Earl and June (Wampler) May, of Hempfield Township. Becky is preceded in death by a brother, Quentin E. May. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ray Crowell; two brothers, Timothy May and his wife, Laurene, of Latrobe, Eric May and his wife, Lisa, of North Huntingdon; a sister, Wendy Miller and her husband, Ronald, of Hempfield Township; sisters-in-law, Penny May, of Punxsutawney, and Janis Chernicky and husband, Brett, of North Huntingdon; brother-in-law, David Crowell and his wife, Kathleen, of Rural Ridge; nieces and nephews, Nathan and Haven May, Laura, Jenny, Amber and Crystal Miller, Reva, Emily, Katie and Cassie May, Zachery, Ethan, Abigail and Lillian May and Anthony Chernicky; and her faithful pets, Tinywee, Fidget, Babette and Teddy. Becky was a talented songwriter, singer and guitar player who loved to entertain and was a wonderful artist and photographer. She lit up every space that she entered and will be surely missed by all those who loved her. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Smaligo, Pastor of the Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greensburg, officiating. Interment followed in the Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
