Josephine M. (Kratt) Sige, 78, of Irwin, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, unexpectedly after a fall in her home. She was born Jan. 25, 1940, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Sadar) Kratt. Prior to her retirement, she was a licensed practical nurse at Braddock Hospital. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin and the Womens Guild/Christian Mothers and the comfort blanket ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Sige Jr., and a son, Kevin Sige. Surviving are three children, Beth Ann Hoffman and her husband Dale, of Fishkill, N.Y., Frank E. Sige and his wife Tammy, of Penn Township, and John Sige and his wife Cheryl, of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Joelene McCusker and her husband Pat, Jared Hoffman and his wife Jenna, Lauren Funari, and Lucas, Brenton, Joshua and Austin Sige; great-granddaughter, Ainsley Josephine McCusker; sister, Fran Vandegrift, of North Huntingdon; a niece, Crystal Vandegrift; loving pet dog Pedro; several nieces and nephews; and a large community of friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, in the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
