John Barberich Obituary

John J. Barberich, 87, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Brownsville, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Matkovich Barberich. John was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Electric as an electrical tester with 41 years of service. John was an avid reader and Steelers fan who enjoyed following his family's sporting events. Most of all, he loved spending his time with family and friends. He was a veteran of the Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy Gnibus; one son, Michael Barberich (wife Betty Anne); one daughter, Lori Rose (husband Russ); one brother, Joseph Barberich (wife Jean); three sisters, Margaret Caldwell, Anne Marie Buckshaw (Edward) and Bernadette Lamb (Jeff); and six grandchildren, Kevin and Steven Barberich, Jonathan, Michael, Christopher and Nicholas Rose. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon, followed by interment at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
