Joan (Loutsenhizer) Brode, 77, of Larimer, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in Greensburg Care Center. She was born March 1, 1941, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late George and Grace (Dougherty) Loutsenhizer. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a nurse's aide for Westmoreland Manor, in Greensburg. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, and the Christian Mothers/Women's Guild, in Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Grace Brode. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, James Edward Brode; and a sister, Jean Keller and her husband, Tom, of Ardara; a special cousin, Tawna Loutsenhizer, of Pittsburgh; aunt, Pat Loutsenhizer; and best friend, Irene Paulus, of Ardara.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the OTT FUNERAL HOME INC. Parting prayers will be held 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed at 9:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
