Norine Stampahar Obituary
Norine Nolte Stampahar, 85, of O'Hara Township, passed away early Christmas morning, with her loving family by her side. Norine was born May 27, 1933, in Lawrenceville, but lived most of her life in O'Hara Township. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, Charles and Catherine Nolte; her sister, Dolores Fazio; and her daughter, Laurie McClaran. Norine is survived by her children, Paul Stampahar, Shelley (Walter) Stoecklein, Sharon (Thomas) DeBlois, and Scott Stampahar; her son-in law, George "Mac" McClaran; her grandchildren, Jessica (Richard) DeFelice, Meredith and Katherine Stoecklein, Tyler, Matthew and Nicole DeBlois, and Jayme and Macy McClaran; her great-grandson, Richard "Tripp" DeFelice; and her sister, Claudia Broderick. Norine was a "jack of all trades" and wore many hats throughout her life. While raising five children, she volunteered for many causes, hosted international visitors, and worked in the Fox Chapel High School administrative office. However, she found her true career calling while working as a real estate agent for Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. Norine was a strong woman who was fiercely loyal, compassionate and hard working. She could tap out a song on the piano without sheet music, loved to dance and sing, and always knew how to enjoy life. She loved to entertain, and hosted many a memorable gathering in the home she shared with her husband, Rich. She could find humor in almost any situation and will be missed by all who knew her. There were many kind individuals who helped care for Norine as dementia consumed her. From the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank Marilyn, Candy, Tammy, Kathy, Antonina, Nicole, Mia, Ami, and Ann for their compassion. The time and energy that you devoted to our mother is priceless.
There will be no calling hours, but a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, St Edward Church, 450 Walnut St., Blawnox, PA 15238. Professional services of THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., Blawnox.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Norine's memory would be greatly appreciated to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, 110 E. 42nd St., 16th Floor, New York, NY 10017, or Little Sisters of the Poor of Pittsburgh, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. www.thomasmsmithfh.com.
