Jane Ferguson Obituary

Jane (Kennedy) Ferguson died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Asbury Heights, Mt. Lebanon. Born Jan. 1, 1914, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. Kennedy Jr. and the late Katherine Worcester Kennedy. Wife of the late John C. Ferguson. Mother of John C. Jr. (Carol), of Mt. Lebanon, Penelope F. (William) Hunt, of Mt. Lebanon, David B. (Gail), of Seattle, Wash., Judy Ferguson, of Evanston, Ill., and the late Edward W. (Carol), of Reading. Sister of Gail Merrill, of Providence, R.I., and the late Joe, Worcester, Taylor, Winthrop and Katherine. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A 1934 graduate of Vassar College, she was involved with the drama program. She was also active with the Virginia Players at UVA. Jane spent 35 years in Nashville, Tenn., where she was past president of the Nashville Children's Theater and retired as its business manager. Friends will be received at Asbury Heights, Building 7, Level 1, Thursday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment in Homewood Cemetery will be private. "Jane loved well and was well loved." In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Asbury Foundation, 700 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243, Family Hospice, 250 Mt. Lebanon Blvd., Suite 203, Pittsburgh, PA 15234, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL INC., Mt. Lebanon.
