John Donahoe Obituary

John L. "Jack" Donahoe, 82, of White Hall, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008. Beloved husband of 54 years to Joan (Burke) Donahoe; loving father of Patrick (Janet), Timothy (Gretchen) and Kathleen (David) Guilinger; devoted grandfather of Bob (Julie), Terry, Katie, Brian and John; brother of Mary, Dolores, Robert and the late James, Charles and Richard; brother-in-law of Bob Burke. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He served in the Navy during World War II, retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant and tirelessly volunteered for People Concerned for the Unborn Child (PCUC) and St. Gabriel Parish. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227. Funeral prayer at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 or PCUC, 3050 Pioneer Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15226.
