Robert Burke Obituary

Robert A. "Bob" Burke, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Mt. Washington, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion C. (Wilson) Burke, and special friend of Jeanne Schreck; father of Jan (Lou) Molinaro, Linda (Jack) Snyder and Sheila (Jim) Dirling; grandfather of Lori, Lou Jr., Mark, Kristy, Dana, Jim Jr., Jeff and Julie; great-grandfather of nine; great-great-grandfather of one; brother of Joan (the late Jack) Donahoe and the late Patricia (the late John) Blohm and Kathleen Burke; uncle of Patrick (Janet) Donahoe, Tim (Gretchen) Donahoe and Kathleen (David) Guilinger; also survived by numerous grandnieces and nephews. Bob served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a safety supervisor. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227. Funeral prayer at 9 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anne Church. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Anne Parish, 4040 Willow Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
