Robert Niesslein Obituary

Robert J. Niesslein, 92, of Valencia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016. Mr. Niesslein was born in Pittsburgh, a son of Virgil H. and Anna Michaels Niesslein. He was a graduate of Geneva College and held a master's degree in education and biology from Penn State and University of Arizona. Robert was a biology and science teacher at North Catholic for nine years and Quaker Valley School for many years, retiring in 1986. His first wife, Frances, was deceased in 1982. Robert is survived by three children, Robert (Lori), of Warrenton, Va., Dr. David Niesslein, of Deep Creek, Md., and Patricia Hoppes (William), of State College; two stepchildren, Russell (Alanda) Bruckner, of Monroe, N.C., and Kathryn J. Bruckner, of Pittsburgh; and his wife of 33 years, Kathryn Bruckner Niesslein. Robert was predeceased by a brother, Virgil Niesslein; and sisters, Virginia Zottola and Laverne Hall. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers of Valencia Woods of St. Barnabas (second floor) for the wonderful care Mr. Bob received while there. May God bless each and every one of you! Robert was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, in St. Kilian Church, corner of Clark and Cherry streets, Mars, PA 16046.
