Anthony F. Calabro, 71, of Bethel Park, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at the Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon. He was born Feb. 4, 1939, in McKeesport, a son of the late Santo Calabro and Florence (Palumbo) Calabro. He was employed from 1964 to 1984 at U.S. Steel Homestead Works. He formerly attended St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clairton. Anthony was a 1957 Clairton High School graduate and 1961 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. He taught ninth grade Geography at Clairton High School from 1962 to 1964 and was also employed by WallFirma in Charleroi from 1984 to 1997 and F.B.C. in Mars from 1997 to 2002. He was a member of the Clairton and Bethel Park Lions Clubs for more than 40 years and was an avid fisherman. Anthony is survived by his wife, Janet E. (Gajdosik) Calabro; two sons, Raymond S. Calabro, of Seattle, Wash., and A. Kevin Calabro, of Orlando, Fla.; two stepsons, David Smith, of Baldwin, and Danny Smith, of Panama City Beach, Fla.; stepdaughter, Debbie Rapp, of Bethel Park; brother, David (Mary) Calabro, of New Hope; sister, Marie C. (Jim) Stefan, of Jefferson Hills; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, PA 15025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clairton.
