Sending light, love and condolences to the family of Salome Bey. Your family is so rich and full, never diminished, even in loss. My heart also goes out to her Nephew, my dear friend, Marvin Jefferson, in New Jersey, who was privileged in his youth to spend his summers with his Aunt Salome in Toronto. Marvin has spoken lovingly of the life experience he had, being embraced so young by such an aura of talent, creativity and inspiration. She was a tremendous inspiration and influence in his life. God Bless his Aunt Salome's beautiful soul. Sing with the Angels, Queen Salome. Rest in Perfect Peace.

I have no words to describe the depth of my sorrow over Salome's loss. I will always carry the memory of her warmth and kindness, and, of course, her singing. Canada has lost a great talent and as fine a person as we could ever have had. Stormy Weather will never sound the same to me.
