Ann E. (Vulgris) Simmons, born Oct. 22, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a resident of O'Hara Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of 67 years to the late John Simmons; beloved mother of Alma (Richard) Skowronski, of O'Hara Township, Joan (Robert) Montgomery, of Avonmore, Anna Flynn, of Cheswick, Sara Kathryn (Mike) Catanzaro, of West Deer, John (Ellie) Simmons, of Blawnox, Terri (Jerry) Stiger, of Lumberton, N.C., Sharon (Mark) Pisano, of O'Hara Township, and Fred (Tiffany) Simmons, of Lower Burrell; loving grandmother of 25; great-grandmother of 47; great-great-grandmother of 17; and is also survived by one brother, Leonard (Sonny) Vulgris, of O'Hara Township. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Vulgris and Frances (Ecker) Timko; brothers, Merle and Bill; and sister, Harriet; baby daughter, Nancy Jean; and grandson, Jason. Ann was a mother and housewife, and a member of Oakmont Methodist Church.
There will be no visitation, but a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in Oakmont Methodist Church, 419 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139, followed by a luncheon (location to be announced). Professional services are trusted to the THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY LTD., Blawnox.
