Terry Ranieri Obituary

Terry Lee Ranieri, 64, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Greensburg, a son of the late Tony W. and Mary G. Bish Ranieri. Terry was a 1975 graduate of HAHS and was recently inducted into the "Wall of Fame." He could be seen at most home football games, where he enjoyed listening to the band and welcoming anyone who crossed his path. He attended Community Living Care, where he enjoyed their music program and other various activities. He would spend most weekends at Westmoreland Mall at the food court, talking and spending time with his friends. He bowled with the "Hillview Specials" and was involved for many years with Special Olympics, where he won several medals. Terry was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan and enjoyed listening to the "Oldies" and being on his computer. Terry enjoyed anything involving people and was a loyal friend to all. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special brother-in-law, James D. DeFloria. He is survived by his three siblings, Daniel Ranieri, Linda DeFloria, and Anthony Ranieri (Karen), all of Greensburg; beloved niece, Jenna Ranieri, of Pittsburgh, special nephew, Daniel Ranieri, of Boyton Beach, Fla.; and a host of extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Terry from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, hosted in Cornerstone Ministries, 2200 Cornerstone Lane, Murrysville, PA 15632, 724-733-0070. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cornerstone Ministries, with senior pastor Dr. Donn Hampman officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. The family would like to thank the dedicated doctors and wonderful nurses and staff of Excela Westmoreland, Montefiore Hospital and Amedysis Hospice for their loving care and compassion during Terry's last days. Terry's family has entrusted his care to the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020.

I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the greatest example of brotherly devotion that I have ever personally witnessed in my lifetime. That of Terry's brother, Tony. Tony took his brother everywhere. To the Malls. To every church festival & Fire Department Carnival In this area. To Spartan football games and band events. Year after year. Decade after decade!
A thank you to Tony and all of the Ranieri family for sharing the gift that was Terry with all of us. Summer festivals will never be the same without
Terry being there!

So sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man. My first job was at the mall at McDonald's and he would be there faithfully, along with all the gentleman and ladies in the food court. Daily activities for them included drinking their coffee or walking. He will be deeply missed he was so kind to everyone he met. People need to learn to be more kind just like him. He brought a smile to everyone's face that he would meet. Rest in peace. You have a wonderful family as well.

We graduated with Terry and he was everybody's friend. He was so special, his smile was contagious. My own children were friends with him from working at the Mall. He will be sorely miss by all. Till we meet again.

Terry was the absolute sweetest! I always ran into him downstairs, outside of Wild Card or in the food court. 'Jammin like Rt. 30' and 'Cool like Whip' were my favorite sayings. I am sorry for your loss. Prayers are with you at this difficult time.

You forgot what you were supposed to be doing at the mall when you ran into Terry and got lost in his happy, loving presence. He was loved by all. Truly.

I met Terry back in the 80's at Greengate Mall. A bunch of us would crowd around him to hear his "Terryisms." I would always see him at Hempfield Days, Greensburg Community Days, Westmoreland Fair, etc. Always made you smile He definitely will be missed by all whose lives he touched. "Stay gold" and "cool like whip."

Terry was such a special person. I met him when I was 15 at Greengate Mall. And I realized the other day that the Terry I met in 1977 was the same Terry my children met at Westmoreland mall years later. He will always have a place in my heart. He is one of a kind.
