Alberta J. Rakaczky Obituary
Alberta Jean (Ashbaugh) Rakaczky, 84, of Latrobe, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born Nov. 3, 1933, in Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late George Ashbaugh and Bertha V. (Wolfe) Ashbaugh Wheeler. Jean was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and going to casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Pat Vanderelli; her second husband, Frank J. Rakaczky; three brothers, William, Merle and George Ashbaugh; and two sisters, Alice Ashbaugh and Marie Rager. Jean is survived by four sons, Timm Vanderelli and his fiance, Meg, of Ligonier, Mark Vanderelli and his wife, Sarah, of Latrobe, Dennis Rakaczky and his wife, Carol, of Latrobe, and Jack Rakaczky and his wife, Tina, of Ebensburg; two daughters, Rose Ann "Annie" Carter and her husband, Rodney, of Paris, Tenn.; and Diana Rakaczky and her husband, Gary Swigert, of Illinois; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Members of the Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Les Hutchins officiating. Private inurnment will be held at St. Clair Cemetery.
