Barbara A. Lizzi, 75, of Lower Burrell, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 6, 1945, in New Kensington, to the late Peter and Anna Mae Sturga Tutak, and has been a resident of Lower Burrell for the past 55 years. Mrs. Lizzi was a graduate of Springdale High School and a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell. She, along with her husband, owned and operated J&J Tools in Lower Burrell. She was very skilled mechanically, doing all repairs to the electrical tools that came to the shop. She and her husband both became licensed private pilots in 1979. She rebuilt several airplanes and cars. She also enjoyed collecting orchids, making wooden pens and loved animals, especially her three dogs, Mogi, Tiny and Bear. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Christian Lizzi, daughter, Lisa (Mark) Akscyn, of Ford City, three grandchildren, Jessica Williams, Dayinera (Steven) Martin and Aaron James Lizzi, and sister, Colette Sharkins, of Cheswick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James P. Lizzi, and brother, Peter B. Tutak. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Masks and COVID guidelines are required. Burial will be private in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
