Charles D. Blansett Obituary
Charles D. "Charlie" Blansett, 87, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home. He was born April 4, 1931, in Latrobe, a son of the late Jacob and Ruth (Thompson) Blansett. Prior to his retirement, Charlie was a machinist at Kennametal, having 43 years of service. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe. He enjoyed square dancing and country line dancing with his late wife, Dolly. The two of them could always be found outside working in the yard together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores L. "Dolly" (Magretti) Blansett; his sister, Donna Miller; and his son-in-law, Eric Popella. He is survived by three children, Cheryl Rose and her husband, Jack, of Latrobe, Don Blansett and his wife, Darlene, of Murrysville, and Tamara Popella, of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Rose (Mike Fullem), Ramie Swiderski (Rick), Michael Quidetto (Devin), Calley Nero (Dave), Sunny Capaldi (Nick) and Savannah, Alexis, Jake, Tanner and Summer Popella; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Craig Taylor.
Charlie's family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 331 Weldon St., Latrobe, PA 15650, at which time a memorial service will be held with the church pastors officiating. Private inurnment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. The HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., in Latrobe, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
